Sovereign Tower How to Recruit Daguez

Let unrest boil, choose knighthood over the noose, then hire Grest’s giant sword

Last updated:

How to Get Daguez

Daguez of Grest is the revolt hire. Wild Wits does not put him on a polite Map Room list. A faction’s satisfaction has to collapse into people’s unrest, you get a four-line audience, and only one of those lines knights a rebel at your Table. Pick that line and Daguez walks in with a giant sword and almost no other manners. Curve Games launched Sovereign Tower on August 6, 2026; August 12 community tables still describe this as a narrative-triggered candidacy, not a shop purchase.

This guide assumes you understand Factions. If you have been keeping every meter polite, you will never see him.

What Daguez offers

Community sheets are cartoonish on purpose: Strength 15 / Agility 0 / Charisma 0 / Magic 0 / Wits 0 / Luck 9, armor 6, level 1. He is a glass cannon who already sits on the Strength cap.

  • My Sword! — cannot change relic. The giant sword is the bit.
  • Problem Solver (hidden) — Strength-based score bonus; extra on Help.
  • Nitwit (hidden) — penalty on Relic Recovery and Scouting.
  • Likes Duel and Hunt; dislikes Relic Recovery and Diplomacy.
  • Favourite meals — Crêpe, Galette-Saucisse, and Préfou (Cooking).
  • Ending slide is listed as fixed in mid-August ending guides — romance and main ending do not rewrite him.

Send him at Hunt, Duel, and Help cards that want raw Strength. Do not send him to find a lamp, charm a countess, or read a map.

Step-by-step recruitment

  1. Let one faction meter fall far enough to trigger the people’s revolt / civil unrest audience. Community write-ups tie this to satisfaction collapse, often People, but any revolt-flavoured unrest that offers the four responses counts.
  2. When the audience presents four answers, choose the line community guides quote as: Let’s knight one of them at my Table to show our esteem.
  3. Do not pick execute, tornado, or the dismissive third option that treats rebels as weather.
  4. Daguez’s candidacy follows. Accept him with a free seat. The event can fire in any act once unrest is ugly enough — Act 2’s eight-seat cap or Act 3’s ten-seat cap are the realistic windows.
  5. Feed him Crêpe or Galette-Saucisse so the strongest arm in Brizh does not resign because you served Lion’s Taco to everyone else.

Steam’s Knighthood achievement (“Knight someone from the people”) lines up with this choice. If you want the trophy and the hire, this is the same button.

How to make unrest on purpose

You do not need to brick the campaign. Use the Faction Balance Tracker and drop one meter while keeping Treasury and the other four off emergency floors.

  • Ignore a string of People petitions, or tax them during a Merchant-friendly week.
  • Fail a People-tagged major on purpose, then rewind later if the revolt hire is all you wanted.
  • Do not stack this stunt on the same week as Stop the Act 2 Murder or the Grest Pirates deadline. Grest can only explode so many ways at once.

If you are hunting How to Get Alwena the same act, remember she also claims a seat and cannot take long quests. Daguez will eat those long Hunts for her.

Using Daguez after he joins

Hunt and Duel are his honest work. Help cards can surprise you because Problem Solver likes them. Diplomacy is a Critical Failure looking for a place to happen.

He cannot swap the giant sword. Annex weapons from Carina’s Forge will not “fix” him into a scout. Build the party around the sword instead of fighting it.

Common failures

  • Never letting a meter collapse — no revolt, no Daguez.
  • Picking the punitive line — you get corpses or a tornado joke, not a knight.
  • No free seat — the revolt still happens; the hire does not stick.
  • Sending him on Relic Recovery — Nitwit plus zero Wits is a lost relic and a lost week.

Daguez is what happens when you knight the riot instead of hanging it. Drop one meter, say the polite line, and point the giant sword at something that needs to be hit once.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

How do you recruit Daguez in Sovereign Tower?

Let a faction collapse into people’s unrest, then choose to knight one of the rebels at your Round Table. Daguez is the candidacy that follows.

Which dialogue option hires Daguez?

Community guides quote the esteem line: knight one of them at your Table. Execute, tornado, and dismissive options skip the hire.

What are Daguez’s stats?

Launch sheets put him at Strength 15 with zeros in Agility, Charisma, Magic, and Wits, plus Luck 9 and a locked giant sword.

Can Daguez appear in Act 1?

The trigger is unrest, not a numbered act. Seat caps make Act 2 or Act 3 the realistic windows unless you already left a chair empty.
