Sovereign Tower How to Get Dulahan

Accept Goberto’s death, wait for the hollow knight, then claim the seat

How to Get Dulahan

Dulahan is the grim payoff for losing Goberto. In Sovereign Tower, Wild Wits treats some deaths as recruitment gates rather than pure failure states: once Goberto is gone, Dulahan can appear in any later act to fill a combat-shaped hole at your Round Table. Curve Games’ August 6, 2026 launch build still matches the community rule of thumb — no Goberto corpse, no Dulahan.

This guide is intentionally spoiler-forward. If you want an organic first reign, finish How to Play and return only when you are ready to spend a knight’s life on a secret.

What Dulahan offers

Community stat sheets put Dulahan around Strength 8 / Agility 8 / Magic 9 with zeroes in Charisma, Wits, and Luck — a lopsided fighter-mage hybrid, not a diplomat. He is excellent for hunt, assassination-adjacent, and magic-pressure cards, and terrible for crowd diplomacy.

Kitchen note: Dulahan (with Chester in some tables) is listed among knights who will eat all six favourite dishes for affinity — useful when resignation risk climbs. See Cooking and Knight Loyalty.

The only hard requirement

Goberto must die. Accidental critical failures count. Intentional suicide sends also count. Soft-failing him into injury is not enough — the trigger is death, which stays permanent until you use the Demon’s Time Rewind.

After the death resolves:

  1. Continue the campaign for a couple of cycles (community reports vary between one and a few days).
  2. Watch for Dulahan’s introduction / audience offer.
  3. Accept with a free Round Table seat under the current act cap (6 / 8 / 10).

If the table is full, free a future plan — you cannot dismiss living knights. Deaths are the only hard roster deletions without rewind.

How players intentionally lose Goberto

Safe planning habits from launch-week guides:

  • Stabilize Wit (Gwendan) and Charisma (Angelica) coverage first so the table survives without Goberto’s hunting niche.
  • Park Goberto on a high-risk quest with mismatched stats or a known deadly outcome once you no longer need him for a critical emergency.
  • Avoid killing him during a stacked faction crisis week — People / Nobles penalties plus a hollow recruit on the same day can snowball. Track standing with the Faction Balance Tracker.
  • Remember Patch 1.0.8 retuned scoring and forge costs; weaker-stat penalties are softer than day-one panic suggested, but critical failures can still kill — Patch Notes 1.0.8.

Do not confuse this with the Act 2 murder plot. That crime targets your highest-affinity knight and is preventable — see Stop the Act 2 Murder. Dulahan specifically wants Goberto gone.

Seat and branch trade-offs

Act 1’s six seats fill fast if you also chase Chester, The Wolf, Brunhilda, and Alwena. Losing Goberto frees a seat and creates Dulahan’s demand for another — net zero if Dulahan joins immediately, which is why players often stage the death near an act transition when the cap rises to eight.

Groveshire versus Gavault still matters for other secrets (Silgur / Wolf vs Brunhilda / Tarcus). Dulahan is mostly branch-agnostic once Goberto is dead — confirm on Secret Knights and Knight Roster.

After Dulahan joins

  • Prefer Magic / Strength / Agility cards; skip Pure Charisma diplomacy.
  • Use Intendant scans (Intendant Guide) to reveal hidden traits that rewrite Quest Scoring.
  • Feed any kitchen dish when affinity drops — he is a flexible eater.
  • Re-run the Quest Matcher for failing Magical or combat cards that Goberto used to soak.

Common failures

  • Waiting forever after a soft injury — Dulahan wants death, not a bandage.
  • Rewinding the death accidentally — Demon undoes the gate if you restore Goberto.
  • No free seat when the hollow knight arrives.
  • Killing Goberto before Map Room / story backups exist — leave a hunting alternative or accept failed hunt weeks.

Dulahan is the tower admitting that some crowns are forged from funerals. Spend Goberto on purpose, leave a chair, and greet the headless answer.

How do you get Dulahan in Sovereign Tower?

Let Goberto die, continue a cycle or two, then accept Dulahan when he appears — with a free Round Table seat.

What meals does Dulahan like?

He is widely listed as accepting all six Kitchen dishes — useful for emergency affinity repairs.
