Sovereign Tower How to Recruit Ligia

Beat the lamp deadline, rewind the stolen solve, then welcome Southbay’s mage

How to Get Ligia

Ligia of Southbay Gate is the Act 2 lamp-quest recruit — Magic-leaning, romance-capable, and historically soft-locked by a choice bug that Patch 1.0.8 (August 11, 2026) specifically fixed. If your Ligia questline froze before that patch, update Steam, then follow the rewind pattern below. Official notes call out “Ligia questline choice lock fixed” — Patch Notes 1.0.8.

What the lamp quest demands

Community consensus:

  1. Accept / progress Ligia’s lamp rescue or recovery quest when it appears.
  2. Win it inside a 3-cycle deadline.
  3. Expect someone else to find the lamp first on your initial solve — the quest teaches you the answer, then asks you to Demon-rewind and apply it in time.
  4. After a successful timely clear (often framed as saving her father / completing the rescue), Ligia becomes recruitable.

Some guides shorten this to “complete her rescue event and save her father.” Both descriptions want a deadline win, not a late participation trophy.

Practical Round Table plan

CycleFocus
PreviewNote Magic / Agility needs; cook favourite meals for the send
Attempt 1Learn the real solve even if an NPC beats you
RewindReturn to pre-deadline morning with knowledge intact
Attempt 2Assign the correct knights immediately; do not multitask pirates
AftermathAccept Ligia; protect a free seat (Act 2 cap 8)

Use Time Rewind deliberately — refusing the Demon after the teaching failure wastes the design. Patch 1.0.8 also extended Grest Pirate by one cycle; still do not stack both emergencies on the same three-day window if you can help it.

Ligia’s kit (community)

Rough line: Strength 3, Agility 8, Charisma 4, Magic 10, Wits 2, Luck 6. Strong Magic / Agility flex for Southbay and arcane cards. Multi-romance penalty around −7 appears in affinity tables — focus one romance if you are chasing Love Is All (Romance).

Feed meals via Cooking; scan hidden traits with the Intendant once she sits.

Choice-lock bug — verify your build

Before 1.0.8, players reported dialogue/choice locks that blocked Ligia progression even after correct play. Symptoms: audience options greyed out, quest marker stuck, rewind failing to restore the fork. Update to 1.0.8+, then:

  1. Rewind to the last healthy Ligia audience.
  2. Re-select the intended branch.
  3. Re-run the lamp deadline cleanly.

If problems persist, check Updates Hub and Steam news for newer hotfixes beyond 1.0.8.

Common failures

  • Treating attempt one as the only try — the rewind is part of the puzzle.
  • Spending the three cycles on side comedy — goose reruns can wait.
  • No Magic coverage — level Ursula, Edith later, or gear Magic before the second attempt.
  • Full table when she finally offers.
  • Playing on pre-1.0.8 with the choice lock still live.

Romance and seat notes

Ligia’s multi-romance penalty is milder than Ursula’s brutal −20, but Act 2 is still a terrible time to court everyone. If you are mid-Stop the Act 2 Murder investigation, finish the traitor loop before starting her romance scenes so affinity maths stay readable.

Seat-wise, remember Alwena may still volunteer if you empty the tower — Get Alwena. Do not accidentally fill Ligia’s chair the morning before her offer.

Ligia’s lamp is a tutorial disguised as a crisis: fail once on purpose, rewind with dignity, and hire the mage who needed you to be punctual.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

How do you recruit Ligia in Sovereign Tower?

Win her lamp / rescue quest inside the 3-cycle deadline. Expect to Demon-rewind after the first teaching solve, then succeed in time and accept her.

What did Patch 1.0.8 change for Ligia?

It fixed a questline choice lock that could soft-lock progress. Update Steam if her audiences refuse to advance.

Do I need the Demon for Ligia?

Nearly always. Guides assume one rewind after someone else finds the lamp first.

What stats does Ligia favour?

Community sheets emphasize Magic and Agility. Build those before the second deadline attempt.
