Sovereign Tower How to Stop the Act 2 Murder
Learn the killer’s name, rewind Alwena’s audience, and save your knight
The Act 2 murder in Sovereign Tower feels scripted: Alwena complains about midnight noise, you pick a reasonable reply, and a few cycles later your favourite knight dies in a corridor. It is not fixed. Wild Wits built a traitor loop that expects you to fail once, investigate, then Demon-rewind with knowledge. Curve Games’ launch build plus community guides (August 2026) agree on the three-step pattern below — and that early rewinds that only lock doors still leave someone dead.
Heavy spoilers for Act 2.
What actually happens
- The victim is typically the knight you are closest to. Affinity matters; romance triples the risk, so courting Angelica or Gwendan makes them prime targets.
- The killer is one of Angelica, Gideon, Gwendan, or Ursula — whoever held the lowest affinity with you when Act 2 began.
- Solving the investigation earns the A Traitor achievement even before you prevent the crime on a later timeline.
This is separate from intentional Dulahan planning (Goberto’s death) and from emergency pirate timers.
Step 1 — Witness the crime once
When Act 2 opens and Alwena reports night noise, any first-pass answer is fine. Let the murder occur mid-audience a few cycles later.
When the Demon offers an immediate rewind, refuse. Rewinding now only teaches who dies and unlocks a lazy door-locking option that swaps in a random substitute victim. Someone still bleeds, and the Demon mocks you for it. You need the killer’s identity, not a different corpse.
Step 2 — Finish the Crime Investigation
- Take the investigation quest that appears in the Round Table log.
- Solve it with high-Wits sends, Intendant help (Intendant), and careful audience follow-ups.
- Confront the murderer in the follow-up audience.
- Note the name. That knowledge is the real reward — plus A Traitor on Achievements.
Use Quest Success and Quest Outcomes if the investigation cards look swingy after Patch 1.0.8 scoring tweaks.
Step 3 — Rewind to Alwena’s audience
Now use the Demon to return to the noise complaint audience before the murder (Time Rewind). A new option appears: community guides quote I think I know who is responsible. I’ll speak with them.
Take it. Audience the exhausted knight who admits to hearing voices at night. Follow the confrontation / help branch your build presents until the murder is prevented and your favourite remains alive.
Affinity hygiene that makes Step 3 easier
- Keep potential killers above catastrophic low affinity with meals (Cooking) — but remember the killer is defined at Act 2 start.
- Avoid multi-romance spikes that paint a glowing target on one partner (Romance).
- If you need Path of the Pure / Golden Key Method 2, this prevention is mandatory — any death voids purity.
Common failures
- Rewinding at the Demon’s first offer — door lock, random victim, no lesson.
- Skipping the investigation — you cannot name the traitor.
- Rewinding too far and losing investigation knowledge flags (stay within the Act 2 window the Demon preserves for this puzzle).
- Confusing this with Ligia’s lamp rewind — different deadline, different page (Get Ligia).

Scheduling around other Act 2 timers
Complete the investigate → confront → rewind loop before you burn Demon charges on Ligia’s lamp or Zolta’s Kutnar unexpected outcome. The murder puzzle wants a clean knowledge flag; stacking three rewinds in one week is how players lose track of which timeline still knows the killer.
If a pirate emergency overlaps, prefer finishing harbour defense on the post-prevention timeline so your saved romance target can actually fight — Grest Pirates.
The Act 2 murder is a midterm exam for Demon literacy. Fail once on purpose, learn the name, rewind with authority, and keep your Round Table breathing.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Can you stop the Act 2 murder in Sovereign Tower?
Yes. Let it happen once, finish the investigation to learn the killer, rewind to Alwena’s noise audience, then take the new “I know who is responsible” option.
Who is the killer?
Angelica, Gideon, Gwendan, or Ursula — whoever had the lowest affinity with you when Act 2 started.
Why does the Demon call me lazy if I rewind immediately?
Immediate rewinds only lock doors and swap victims. You still need the investigation to learn who kills.
Does preventing the murder block the A Traitor achievement?
No. Earn A Traitor by completing the investigation confrontation, then rewind to save your knight on the cleaned timeline.
