Sovereign Tower Quest Types and Conditions Glossary

Eleven types, twenty-one conditions, and why likes are not the same as score

Quest Types and Conditions

Every Round Table card in Sovereign Tower wears a type and zero or more conditions. Wild Wits uses those tags twice: once for affinity (does this knight enjoy the work?) and once for score (do hidden attributes add +1 or −1?). Curve Games launched the game on August 6, 2026. Community file reads now list eleven types and twenty-one conditions across about 312 quests (~71 major). This page is the glossary. Math lives on Quest Scoring; debriefs live on Quest Outcomes; matching help lives on the Quest Matcher.

Likes do not raise the success number. A liked Hunt gives Goberto about +1.33 affinity. His Hunter tag — if he had one — would be the score line. Players who cook a favourite meal and match type stack loyalty without assuming the card is free.

The eleven quest types

Chester enjoys every type (Happy To Be Here, about +1.0 affinity per send). That is why the goose joke is also a loyalty engine — How to Get Chester.

Conditions that rewrite the same card

Conditions sit under the type. They are why two Hunts are not equal.

Creature and place: Flying Creature, Cute Creature, Big Creature, Dragon, Woods, Cave, Water, Crowd, Track, Climbing, At Night, Ghost.

Work style: Magic Ritual, Heavy Lifting, Investigation, Help, Musical, Unethical, Intimidation, People Involved, Need Flying Mount.

Examples that punish the wrong face:

  • Woods — Brunhilda’s Fire Lady takes +1 damage. Heated also dislikes Woods and Water.
  • Cave / At Night — unreformed Gwendan’s Fear of the Dark is −1 (Reform Gwendan).
  • Water — Zolta’s Conductor hurts score and adds damage; Ligia’s Half Mermaid loves it.
  • Crowd — Arron Timid, Dulahan hidden dislike, Victoria dislike, Gwendan Arrogant on People Involved.
  • Ghost — Dulahan likes it; Angelica hides a Ghost dislike and Fear of Ghosts.
  • Dragon — Arron’s Dragon Expert is +1; Silgur’s Poacher can be −1.
  • Help / People Involved — Angelica Kind-Hearted shines; Victoria Sadistic does not.
  • Unethical / Intimidation — Brunhilda Heated and Victoria Sadistic lean in; Angelica Naive leans out.

Location still matters even when the condition list is empty. Brizh Connoisseur (Alwena) and Coastal (Ligia) read the map, not the type line — Kingdom Map.

Affinity math versus score math

Tag kindTypical affinityTypical score
Liked type or conditionabout +1.33none by itself
Disliked type or conditionabout −0.75none by itself
Favourite mealabout +1.5+0.5 on the next send
Attribute such as Hunter or Arrogantnoneusually ±1 on matching tags

A quest that is the right type and has two liked conditions can approach +4 affinity in one debrief. That is how you Reform Gwendan without spending the entire Treasury on Crêpes. It is also how you accidentally resign Ursula by repeating Diplomacy she hates.

Score still starts at −10 and needs presence, six-stat averages, meals, and traits to climb into Success / Great / Critical bands (Quest Scoring). Only gold multiplies on Great and Critical — relics do not.

Special outcomes ignore the average

About 312 cards can carry a special outcome that fires when a named knight is present. The first matching trigger wins; later lines never run. Examples this wiki already documents:

  • Angelica on Almor’s werewolf card → tamed Wolf (Beast Hunt)
  • Dulahan on Political prisoner fighting → human body (Transformations)
  • Goberto on The great duel without Fight the dragon → Perfect Armour
  • Unreformed Gwendan on Stolen Tiara → unique failure

Read the card for a grey knight-quest flag. If it is written for one person, sending your “best stats” is how you miss the rewrite.

How to use this glossary at the table

  1. Read type first, then every condition chip.
  2. Ask whether you need affinity (romance, Reform, resignation) or score (deadline, emergency).
  3. Check hidden dislikes via Intendant before a Crowd Diplomacy send.
  4. Cook only if the knight will actually go tomorrow — meals are +0.5 score, not a type change.
  5. After a rewrite, re-read likes. Arron’s Brutal path changes meals; Reformed Gwendan changes which faction cards he scores.

Types are the language of the Round Table. Learn the eleven words, then stop sending your cave-fearing heir into the dark just because his Charisma looks pretty on the card.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

How many quest types are in Sovereign Tower?

Community file reads list eleven types: Hunt, Assassination, Relic Recovery, Diplomacy, Scouting, Confrontation, Duel, Competition, Research, Rescue, and Knight Quest.

Do liked quest types raise success chance?

No. Likes raise affinity (about +1.33). Score comes from stats, party size, meals (+0.5), and attributes. See [Quest Scoring](/systems/quest-scoring/).

What is a Knight Quest?
