Sovereign Tower How to Recruit Epicrate

Epicrate of the Brimwood Congregation is the Act 3 serpent politician. Wild Wits runs him through a multi-stage questline: testimony, trial, and a serpent-knight finale. You either win the trial and hire a cleared man, or break him out of prison and hire a fugitive. Curve Games launched Sovereign Tower on August 6, 2026; mid-August guides agree on one extra landmine — do not send Tarcus if you choose the prison break.

Heavy Act 3 spoilers for Brimwood. Finish Act 2 Walkthrough first so you are not learning Demon literacy during a trial deadline.

What Epicrate offers

Community sheets place him near Strength 3 / Agility 3 / Charisma 9 / Magic 9 / Wits 12 / Luck 3, armor 6, level 9 — a Wits / Magic court specialist, not a Hunt closer.

• Revolutionar — score moves with the People versus Nobility gap; bonus on People Involved.
• Undiplomatic — Diplomacy penalty. He talks revolution and still fails polite courts.
• Time Perception (hidden) — score bonus when he has already seen the quest in another timeline. Demon rewinds make him smarter.
• Intuitive (hidden) — bonus on Relic Recovery, Scouting, and Investigation.
• Likes Relic Recovery and Magic Ritual; dislikes Diplomacy.
• Favourite meals — Brizhian Butter Shortbread and Préfou (Cooking).
• Ending slide is listed as fixed in mid-August ending tables.

If you rewind a lot, Time Perception is the reason Epicrate feels unfairly good on the second attempt. That is intended, not a patch bug.

Sovereign Tower — late-campaign choices and second chances

Path A — win the trial

1. Accept the Brimwood Congregation chain when the testimony audience appears.
2. Send high-Wits knights on investigation and testimony cards. Use the Intendant the day before the hearing.
3. Win the trial / serpent-knight finale with honest averages, meals, and traits (Quest Scoring).
4. Accept Epicrate when the cleared-name audience offers the seat. Steam’s Spirit of Justice (“Clear your client’s name”) sits on this neighbourhood of outcomes.
5. Keep a free Act 3 chair. Ten seats still fill with Victoria, Edith, Ari, and Gothild.

Path B — prison break

1. Fail or refuse the clean trial fork so Epicrate is imprisoned (or follow the covert-operation branch if your build offers it immediately).
2. Plan a break-out quest. Community notes: do not send Tarcus. His Killer / Unpleasant package spoils the covert tone.
3. Succeed the break. Steam’s Prison Break achievement lives here.
4. Hire the fugitive. People satisfaction often likes this more than Nobles do — which is exactly how Revolutionar wants the table to look.

How to Get Tarcus is still worth doing for Zolta. Just bench him for this one card.

Which path should you take?

Trial if you want Nobles to survive Act 3 and you still need a Peace-friendly court for Endings Guide. Prison break if you are already a People-heavy Revolutionary and you want the trophy. You can rewind after the achievement if you hate the political fallout (Time Rewind).

Do not run either path on the same three cycles as Victoria’s trials or the Golden Key purity constraint (Get Victoria, Golden Key).

Using Epicrate after he joins

Investigation, Relic Recovery, Magic Ritual, Scouting. Avoid Diplomacy even though Charisma 9 looks tempting — Undiplomatic is the trap. Feed Shortbread or Préfou before testimony rematches.

If you already rewound the trial once, send him back. Time Perception is the hidden reason second hearings go better.

Common failures

• Sending Tarcus on the break — covert quest collapses.
• Treating him as a diplomat because Charisma is high.
• No free seat after paying 25 funds for Ari and Edith.
• Starting the chain too late against other Act 3 timers.
