Sovereign Tower How to Get Gideon

Glory-seeking recruit with Audacious romance pressure

Last updated:

How to Get Gideon

Gideon walks into your court as a spontaneous Act 2 encounter in Sovereign Tower — a knight “seeking purpose… and possibly dramatic lighting,” talking about glory and shiny armor. By the end of that conversation his formal request unlocks. Community recruit tables place him from Tower City with a 25-fund Map Room fallback if the organic scene is missed. Wild Wits and Curve Games launched on August 6, 2026. He remains a Strength-forward staple and an Audacious-leaning romance target with an -18 multi-romance penalty.

Use this page with Romance Gideon once that route guide is open, plus Cooking, Map Room Hiring, and Recruit Knights. He is easy to confuse with Oliver (mercy-gated clerk) and Arron (Dragon Knight aftermath). Gideon is the glory hound, not the Angelorian paperwork specialist.

How the encounter works

  1. Progress into Act 2 pacing so spontaneous knight audiences can fire (seat cap rises to eight).
  2. When Gideon appears, listen through the glory pitch and accept the Round Table request.
  3. If the scene never triggers, check the Map Room for a 25-fund hire once hiring is unlocked.
  4. Confirm headroom before you also invite Ligia, Childeric, or Zolta the same week.

You cannot dismiss him later. Treat the invite as permanent for the reign.

Round Table role

Gideon covers martial escorts, duels, and high Strength thresholds that Angelica and Ligia dislike. Feed Brizhian Butter Shortbread or Crêpe after Kitchen access. Investigate traits before Assassination-tagged cards if you are also chasing Kind-coded romances that hate those missions (Intendant).

Patch 1.0.9 added a Round Table repair button after the forge unlocks — useful because martial knights eat armor durability (Patch Notes 1.0.9, Annexes). Pair Gideon with a Magical partner on mixed-stat cards rather than soloing relics.

Romance warning

Gideon and Ursula both prefer Audacious tone. Courting both triggers stacked penalties (Ursula -20, Gideon -18). Pick one Audacious romance or finish the first before starting the second. See Romance Ursula and Character Endings for goodbye-slide stakes. Act 2’s traitor can still kill a courted Gideon if you skip Stop the Act 2 Murder.

Practical tips

  • Keep Kind Angelica and Audacious Gideon on separate heart weeks if you have not picked a single target yet.
  • Use Quest Matcher when Act 3 thresholds climb toward Strength 15 finale cards.
  • Do not spend his first week on the Grest pirate panic unless he is your only raider (Grest Pirates).
  • After dragonheart weeks, remember Arron’s STR/AGI-only buff from 1.0.9 — Gideon is still your reliable Strength baseline if Arron underperforms (Get Arron).

Common failures

  • Missing the audience because Ligia’s lamp or the murder investigation filled the queue.
  • Hiring him with no chair, then wondering why he vanished.
  • Dual-courting Ursula the same month.
  • Sending him to ghost hunts Angelica should have refused — wrong knight, wrong tag.

If Act 2’s eight chairs are already full of Ligia, Childeric, and a Map Room impulse buy, Gideon’s audience becomes a wasted cutscene. Count seats the night before. Glory does not create a ninth chair.

Gideon is the straightforward hammer of the Round Table. Invite the glory hound when you need Strength, then decide whether Audacious romance is worth the jealousy math.
