Sovereign Tower How to Get Goberto

Starter hunter whose death can unlock Dulahan

How to Get Goberto

Goberto of Naoned is the Cycle 2 hunting starter who sits beside Angelica at the first real Round Table in Sovereign Tower. Wild Wits wrote him as early muscle: Hunt and Crowd cards, three favourite meals, and a grim secret — Dulahan only appears if Goberto dies. Curve Games launched the full game on August 6, 2026. Community sheets still list a cheap 10-fund Map Room fallback if the organic join glitches; you should not need it on a healthy Act 0–1 save (Map Room Hiring).

Read this page before you treat every Critical Failure as a disaster. Some players spend Goberto on purpose. Others protect him for the entire Path of the Pure Golden Key run (Golden Key). Those plans cannot share a timeline.

Recruitment

Automatic with Angelica in early Act 1. He counts against the six-seat cap. You cannot dismiss him. The only hard deletion is death — or a Demon rewind that restores a corpse (Time Rewind).

If Cycle 3 arrives with no Goberto, check whether you stalled the prologue, then look at the Map Room’s 10-fund listing before you rewind in panic.

Round Table role

Feed Lion’s Taco, Galette Saucisse, and Brizhian Butter Shortbread after the Kitchen opens (Cooking). Send Hunt / Crowd / pirate-adjacent cards. Keep him off the Almor joust if you want Childeric — Goberto as champion is a documented fail state for that recruit.

He is a natural Kill the Beast tool for Silgur if you are not using Angelica’s tame. He is a terrible diplomat; Charisma crises belong to Angelica or Ursula.

The Dulahan fork

Dulahan requires Goberto’s death, then a cycle or two of waiting, then a free chair (Get Dulahan, Secret Knights). Injury is not enough. Accidental Critical Failures count. Intentional suicide sends count. Patch 1.0.8 retuned scoring so weaker-stat penalties are softer, but hunt cards can still kill — Quest Outcomes.

Do not confuse this with the Act 2 corridor murder, which targets your closest knight and is preventable (Stop the Act 2 Murder). Dulahan specifically wants Goberto gone.

If you also want Path of the Pure, you cannot stage this death. Pick a religion: helmeted secret or thirty-four funeral-free cycles.

Practical habits

  • Investigate hunt traits via the Intendant before Beast Hunt week.
  • Keep forge repairs ready — Patch 1.0.9 adds a Round Table repair button after the forge unlocks (Patch 1.0.9).
  • Use him on Grest Pirates after the +1 cycle from 1.0.8 if you are keeping him alive.
  • Document the death cycle in a notebook if Dulahan is the plan, then do not casually rewind it.

Common failures

  • Sending him as joust champion and losing Childeric.
  • Killing him during a stacked faction crisis so People and Nobles both revolt.
  • Rewinding the death after Dulahan joined and orphaning the hollow knight.
  • Expecting a dismiss button to free a seat for Victoria later — there is none (Recruit Knights).

Goberto is early muscle and a secret key. Decide on day two whether his life or Dulahan’s helmet will define this reign — then cook Taco before the next hunt card.
